
Dr. Christopher Jabbo Allen
Dr. Christopher P. Allen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to The Jabbo Group. While obtaining his M.B.A., he decided to start “The Jabbo Group.” The Jabbo Group is a full-service business consulting firm that has experience in Entertainment and Education. His duties and responsibilities involve all areas of marketing, from advertising to research.
Dr. Allen worked with the New Jersey Nets in the National Basketball Association. His duties included all facets of public relations, media relations, player appearances, and community events. After the New Jersey Nets, Dr. Allen went to work for the Jacksonville Lizard Kings and Jacksonville Tomcats. His duties involved all areas of media and community relations for both the hockey and football franchises. Dr. Allen has had brief stints with the Miami Dolphins, University of Miami Athletics, and Florida Panthers within the Sports Information and Marketing department.
Dr. Allen has transitioned from the Sports Industry into Higher Education. He was an Academic Advisor for the Accelerated Studies in Associate Program (ASAP). He has helped advise students as they venture down their academic journey at Borough Manhattan Community College (BMCC) in New York City. Since then, Dr. Allen has shifted into becoming a full-time professor. Before becoming a full-time professor at Florida International University, Dr. Allen served as an academic adviser within the College of Business as the lead Marketing adviser.
Dr. Allen received his Doctoral of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He has also earned a Masters in Business Administration with a Marketing specialization from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelors of Science from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Marketing. Dr. Allen is a generation Xer, educator, and marketer who writes and speaks on the generational and relationship changes in American Culture and Generational Consumerism.
One of Dr. Allen’s most significant moments was volunteering to serve as assistant offensive coordinator alongside his father (Leroy Jabbo Allen) for Horace Mann High School in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. During that time, Dr. Allen enjoyed working with the young athletes, particularly those making the transition to college. Dr. Allen is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
